| Obverse description | The obverse presents a high-relief, shaped coin cut to the silhouette of the Angel of Independence, modelled after the celebrated winged female figure atop Mexico City's Monument to Independence. The angel is depicted in three-quarter view, her large feathered wings fully extended, her right arm raised aloft holding a laurel wreath, and her left arm lowered holding a broken chain. The figure is rendered in a copper-finish field with a polished, mirror-like surface that accentuates the sculptural detail of her draped robes and feathered wings. The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA is inscribed across the body of the figure, with the denomination 1 DOLLAR COPPER and the date 2026 appearing in the lower portion of the coin. |
