Obverse description The obverse presents a high-relief, shaped silhouette of a winged female allegorical figure — the Angel of Independence — depicted in a dynamic, forward-striding pose with large outstretched wings filling the coin's contour. The figure raises her right arm aloft, holding a laurel wreath crown, while her left hand grasps a torch or sceptre at her side; her draped robes flow naturalistically around her lower body. The coin itself is die-cut to follow the outline of the figure, standing on a small rectangular plinth at the base. The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA is incused across the upper body of the figure between the wings, with the denomination 1 Dollar Copper and the date 2026 inscribed in the lower portion of the field.
