| Additional information |
Liberia has issued coins under its own authority since the mid-nineteenth century, but its modern bullion and commemorative program is largely a licensing operation — designs are contracted abroad, struck at private mints in Europe or China, and sold directly into the collector market with no meaningful domestic circulation. The "American Eagle" branding here has no connection to the U.S. Mint's American Eagle series; it is a trademarked design motif applied to a Liberian-authorized issue.
The 155.5g copper weight places this squarely in the 5-troy-ounce category, a format popularized by the secondary bullion market in the 2010s.
