Obverse description Brown intaglio print over a green and pink multicolour underprint. The Fijian state arms and the heading GOVERNMENT OF FIJI appear at upper centre, while a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is positioned at right. Guilloche panels frame the design on both sides of the note.

Reverse description Brown intaglio engraving of a panoramic tropical beach scene, believed to represent Yanuca in the Yasawa Islands, with palm-fringed shoreline, gentle hills, and a calm bay occupying the central vignette. The denomination $1 appears at lower left and ONE DOLLAR at lower right, with the printer's imprint in small lettering at the lower right margin. A blank oval cartouche at right is reserved for the watermark area.
