Obverse description The obverse is printed in shades of purple and green, with an intaglio portrait vignette of Sir Alexander Bustamante at left, identified by a caption beneath. A central guilloche underprint frames the denomination ONE DOLLAR in large intaglio lettering, flanked by floral vignettes at right, while the Jamaican coat of arms is positioned at the lower right. The issuing authority inscription runs along the lower border, with a star-prefixed serial number appearing twice.
