The British Caribbean Territories Eastern Group Currency Board was established in 1950 to provide a unified currency across a cluster of British colonial possessions — Barbados, British Guiana, British Honduras, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands. This Pick 1 dollar is the founding issue of that arrangement, printed by Bradbury Wilkinson in the same two-year window the board itself came into existence.
British Honduras was dropped from the union almost immediately, in 1949 before the board formally issued notes, and British Guiana followed in 1951. The 1950–1951 date range on this type therefore captures the brief moment when the board's full intended membership was still nominally intact.
