| Anmerkungen |
The 1937 series was the first issued under the Bank of Canada's own authority following the nationalization of the bank in 1938 — though the notes predate that event, having been prepared while the institution was still technically privately held. Three signature combinations exist for this denomination, reflecting successive changes in the position of Deputy Governor: Osborne was replaced by Gordon, then Coyne, all while Towers held the Governorship continuously from 1934 to 1954.
The Osborne-Towers pairing is the scarcest of the three by a considerable margin, having been superseded quickly.
