Description de l’avers	Black intaglio on light paper with a fine multicolour guilloche underprint; a central oval vignette bears a facing portrait of King George V in military uniform, flanked by ornate scrollwork borders with the denomination ONE rendered in large green numerals to the left. DOMINION OF CANADA arches across the upper field in bold letterpress, with the promise clause WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND below, and the date JULY 2ND 1923 together with the place of issue OTTAWA appearing at the lower centre.

Description du revers	Printed in deep green intaglio on an engine-turned guilloche ground, the reverse carries a large central vignette of the Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa with the Peace Tower rising above the roofline. Symmetrical lathe-work panels bearing the numeral 1 flank the vignette on either side, with DOMINION OF CANADA lettered across the upper margin and ONE DOLLAR across the lower portion of the note.
