Descrizione del dritto	The obverse is printed in black with a central vignette of the British Royal Arms supported by a lion and a unicorn, flanked on either side by large ornate numeral "1" panels. To the lower left, an oval portrait vignette of Queen Victoria in diadem is set within a guilloche border, while to the lower right appears a corresponding oval portrait of a gentleman in period dress. The upper margin bears the bank title "THE BANK OF WESTERN CANADA" with the capital amount "$1,000,000" and the lower margin carries the imprint of the American Bank Note Company along with the legend "INCORPORATED BY ACT OF PARLIAMENT."
