背面描述 The reverse is left largely unprinted on plain cream-coloured paper, carrying as its sole security device a large red letterpress underprint of the word ONE in mirror-reversed orientation across the centre, a measure consistent with Canadian private bank note practice of the period to discourage fraudulent alteration of the denomination.

备注

The Farmers' Joint Stock Banking Company was one of the short-lived Upper Canadian chartered banks that never quite found its footing. Incorporated in 1849, it operated for only a few years before failing — a common fate among Ontario's mid-century joint-stock banking experiments, where undercapitalization and speculative lending repeatedly ended in collapse and note-holder losses.

Surviving examples from this issuer are genuinely rare. The bank's brief operational window means total note production was limited, and failures of this kind typically saw outstanding currency redeemed at a discount or rendered worthless entirely, giving holders little reason to preserve specimens.
