| Obverse description | The left portion of the note is dominated by an allegorical vignette in intaglio, showing a seated Asian woman at the lower left beside a standing classical female figure representing France, who holds aloft a caduceus. The bilingual denomination appears centrally in large letterpress type: ONE DOLLAR / UNE PIASTRE, with the place of issue SAIGON at upper left and the bank title BANQUE DE L'INDO-CHINE across the top within an ornate guilloche border.
