Obverse description Facing conjoined effigies of Ferdinand V and Isabella I, each crowned with a Gothic crown, their busts facing one another in profile at center within a beaded inner circle. The king is shown to the left and the queen to the right, both draped, rendered in the bold relief characteristic of late medieval Castilian hammered gold coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, separated from the inner field by a beaded border.
