| Obverse description | Central field displays the Islamic profession of faith (shahada) in multiple lines of bold Kufic script, reading 'la ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lahu' (there is no god but God alone, He has no partner). The central inscription is enclosed within a single circular line, surrounded by a marginal legend in Arabic Kufic script running continuously around the inner border. The outer margin features an additional Quranic or administrative inscription within a second circular boundary, consistent with Umayyad-era epigraphic dirham style. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, characteristic of hand-hammered production. |

| Reverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Kufic inscription in the standard Umayyad reform dirham format, identifying the mint and date of issue, along with a Quranic citation (Surah 9:33 or 112) typical of the period. The inscription is arranged in horizontal lines across the field, enclosed by a single inner circle. A continuous marginal legend in Kufic script encircles the central area, with a further outer inscription band running along the periphery of the flan. The reverse follows the epigraphic type introduced by the Umayyad reform of 79 AH, here adapted by the rebel authority of Abd Allah ibn Mu'awiya at the mint of Ram Hurmuz. |
