Obverse description Central field displays the Islamic profession of faith (shahada) in multiple lines of bold Kufic script, reading 'la ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lahu' (there is no god but God alone, He has no partner). The central inscription is enclosed within a single circular line, surrounded by a marginal legend in Arabic Kufic script running continuously around the inner border. The outer margin features an additional Quranic or administrative inscription within a second circular boundary, consistent with Umayyad-era epigraphic dirham style. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, characteristic of hand-hammered production.
