Obverse description Central field bears a three-line Arabic Kalima legend in Kufic-transitional script, reading the Islamic declaration of faith: 'There is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner.' The inscription is presented in bold, angular characters typical of early 11th-century Syrian hammered coinage. The field is undecorated, with the lettering occupying the full face of the flan. The coin exhibits an irregular, slightly off-center strike characteristic of provincial Mirdasid mint production. The entire design is contained within an unbordered circular field.
