Reverse description The reverse field carries multiple horizontal lines of Kufic Arabic inscription naming the Abbasid caliph and the Buyid amir Samsam al-Dawla, arranged in a stacked format across the flat silver flan. The name and titles of the issuing ruler appear prominently in the central area, flanked by additional honorific and religious formulae. A circular marginal legend in Arabic Kufic script encircles the field within a beaded border, continuing the epigraphic tradition standard to Abbasid-style Islamic coinage. The reverse inscription also includes the mint and date references consistent with Buyid Fars production of AH 381.
