Reverse description The reverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription filling the field, arranged in several horizontal registers within a beaded border. The text contains pious formulae and the titles and name of the Danishmendid ruler Nizam al-Din Yaghi-Basan, following the conventions of Seljuq-era Islamic coinage. The script is bold and deeply struck, characteristic of hammered copper issues from twelfth-century Anatolia. A decorative beaded border encircles the entire legend field, and the flan edges are rough and irregular.
