Reverse description Central field bearing multiple registers of Arabic Kufic inscriptions, including the mint name (Balad) and the AH date of issue, arranged in horizontal bands across the flan. A circular marginal legend runs along the inner border, containing Quranic verses in accordance with standard Abbasid dirham typology. The die work reflects the epigraphic conventions of provincial Uqaylid coinage, with somewhat irregular letter spacing attributable to hand-engraved dies. The reverse follows the broad format established by Abbasid monetary reform, adapted for this vassal dynasty.
