Obverse description Central field displays the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) arranged in three horizontal lines within a decorative cartouche framed by a curved border, typical of Abbasid-influenced dirham design. The inscription reads the declaration of the oneness of God across the central zone, with an additional line above. A circular marginal legend surrounds the central field, recording the mint name, the word 'dirham,' and the regnal year of issue in Arabic script. The flan is irregular and slightly scalloped at the edges, consistent with hand-struck hammered coinage of the early 11th century. The strike is moderately well-centered with some weakness at the periphery.
