Beschrijving voorzijde Central field bears multiple lines of Arabic Kufic inscription arranged in horizontal registers within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a beaded border. The marginal legend runs around the circumference between the beaded border and the outer dotted rim, containing additional religious and administrative text. The overall layout follows the typical Abbasid-influenced dirham format adopted by Saffarid governors, with the name of the local ruler Kuthayyir b. Ahmad prominently featured in the central area. The coin displays the irregular flan characteristic of hammered Islamic silver dirhams of the period.

Beschrijving keerzijde Central field displays the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) arranged in multiple horizontal lines of Kufic script within a plain inner circle, with the word 'Allah' or a Quranic invocation at the top above the main inscription block. Three to four lines of text fill the central registers, consistent with standard Abbasid-style dirham reverses. A beaded inner border encloses the central field, and a circular marginal legend runs between the beaded border and the outer dotted rim. The reverse closely follows the canonical Abbasid dirham reverse format, adapted by the Saffarid governors of Sijistan.
