The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, founded in 1965, was among the earliest formal economic institutions established in the Trucial States — predating the UAE's federation by six years. This dirham was issued to mark the Chamber's fiftieth anniversary, part of a broader UAE practice of commissioning circulating commemoratives on significant institutional milestones rather than limiting such issues to precious metals or collector sets.
