Reverse description Central field carries a multi-line Kufic Arabic inscription naming the Abbasid caliph and the Sallarid ruler Jastan b. al-Marzuban, arranged in horizontal registers within a linear frame. The marginal legend in the outer circle records the mint name Ardabil and the date of issue, in keeping with standard Abbasid-influenced provincial dirham typology. The surfaces show typical die wear and flan irregularity consistent with hand-struck production of the period.
