Obverse description Central field contains a multi-line Arabic religious legend arranged in horizontal bands within a single dotted inner circle. The Shahada and additional pious formulae are inscribed in stylized Kufic script. A marginal legend in Arabic runs along the inner border of a dotted outer circle, likely containing the mint name and/or Quranic verse. The flan is irregular and slightly broader than the die, characteristic of Sallarid hammered silver dirhams. The overall style reflects the Abbasid epigraphic dirham tradition as adapted by the Sallarid vassals of northwestern Persia.
