Daysam ibn Ibrahim al-Kurdi controlled Adharbayjan after ousting the Musafirid ruler Marzuban ibn Muhammad in the 940s, but his tenure was characterized by constant military pressure from multiple directions. By 952 he was already losing his grip — Marzuban's brother Wahsudan would eventually force him out entirely. Coinage struck in his name during this period documents a politically unstable administration minting on borrowed time.
