Reverse description Central field displays a multi-line Arabic Kufic inscription in horizontal registers, naming the Abbasid caliph and the Banijurid governor Da'ud b. Muhammad, affirming political and religious authority. A circular marginal legend in Kufic script surrounds the central area, carrying the Quranic verse (Sura 9:33) attesting to the mission of the Prophet. The flan is irregularly shaped with uneven edges consistent with the hammered coinage tradition of the eastern Islamic world in the 3rd century AH.
