背面描述 Central field displaying a three-line Arabic legend in a highly stylised geometric Kufic script arranged in an interlocking, maze-like pattern characteristic of Anatolian beyliks coinage of the early 15th century. The inscription reads 'al-Sultan al-A'zam / 'Ali ibn 'Ala al-Din / Duriba Qunya', identifying the ruler as Sultan 'Ali son of 'Ala al-Din and recording the mint city of Konya. The angular Kufic lettering creates a decorative, almost architectural effect across the full face of the irregular flan.

附加信息

The Karamanids were the most persistently resistant of the Anatolian beyliks to Ottoman absorption, and 'Ali b. 'Ala al-Din's reign falls squarely in the period when that resistance was both militarily active and diplomatically complicated. After Timur's destruction of Ottoman power at Ankara in 1402 briefly restored Karamanid autonomy, the beylik spent the following decades in an uneasy cycle of confrontation and submission with a recovering Ottoman state. This coin was struck roughly two decades into that precarious interval.

Konya as mint city carried deliberate weight — it had been the Seljuk sultanate's capital, and Karamanid rulers consistently exploited that association to assert legitimacy above their beylik peers.
