| Reverse description | The reverse presents a multi-line Kufic Arabic inscription in the central field, recording the mint, date, and the name of the Alid ruler Al-Husayn b. Ahmad, arranged in horizontal registers within a plain inner circle. A concentric marginal legend in Kufic script runs between the inner and outer borders, carrying additional religious or administrative text. The outer rim is dentilated, consistent with the obverse treatment. The flan exhibits the characteristic irregularity of ninth-century hammered Islamic silver dirhams. A suspension hole is visible near the lower-left edge of the coin. |
