Additional information

Al-Ashraf Isma'il II ruled the Rasulid sultanate of Yemen for less than two years before being deposed and killed in 1428, making his coinage among the thinnest series in the dynasty's output. The Rasulids had maintained Yemen's most sophisticated minting apparatus since the mid-thirteenth century, but by Isma'il II's reign the dynasty was in terminal decline, fractured by succession disputes that had turned violent across the preceding two decades.

Album 1113 is sparsely documented in the literature, and surviving examples are genuinely scarce.
