Andorra's micro-gold program, launched in the early 2010s, was designed explicitly for the collector market — the principality has no central bank and issues coinage under agreement with both France and Spain, giving it unusual latitude to produce pieces with no expectation of circulation. The Joan of Arc diner belongs to that series. At half a gram of .999 gold, it contains less fine metal than most dental restorations.
