正面描述 The obverse presents a densely inscribed central square field containing multiple lines of Arabic calligraphic legend in Maghribi Naskh script, arranged in horizontal registers. The square field is framed by a double linear border, with additional marginal Arabic inscriptions occupying the annular space between the square and the outer beaded border that encircles the entire design. A short inscription appears above the square at the top margin and another at the bottom margin, both within their own cartouche-like panels. The overall design follows the characteristic Nasrid hammered gold dinar tradition, with no figural imagery, the entire surface devoted to religious and dynastic epigraphic ornament.

附加信息

Yusuf II's reign lasted less than two years — he died in October 1392, likely of plague, after ascending the Nasrid throne in 1391. That brevity, combined with Granada's already-constrained minting output in the late fourteenth century, makes this dinar genuinely scarce by any measure of Nasrid numismatics. The emirate was by then a contracted tributary state, its gold supply dependent on trans-Saharan trade routes increasingly disrupted by Marinid political collapse in Morocco.
