| Aanvullende informatie |
Stjepan Tomašević was the last king of medieval Bosnia, crowned in 1461 with papal backing in a desperate bid to consolidate resistance against Ottoman expansion. He reigned fewer than two years before Mehmed II's forces swept through Bosnia in a campaign of exceptional speed — the kingdom fell in a matter of weeks in 1463. Tomašević was captured at Ključ and executed personally on Mehmed's orders, reportedly after being promised safe conduct.
Coins struck under his authority thus span an exceptionally compressed window, making any survivor a document of a dynasty's final months.
