Reverse description Central field bears a prominent multi-line Arabic legend in bold raised relief, executed in a combination of square Kufic and cursive Naskh scripts, enclosed within a square-panelled border. The uppermost line of the central inscription reads the Shahada or a portion thereof, with further lines below containing the ruler's name and titles. A circular marginal legend in Naskh script surrounds the central device within a raised linear border. The coin's broad irregular flan and characteristic high-relief strike are typical of late Chagatai hammered silver dirhams struck at Samarqand.
