| Reverse description | Reverse field bears multiple horizontal lines of Arabic script in Kufic/Naskhi style, containing the name and titles of Sultan Sanjar alongside acknowledgment of Abbasid suzerainty, all contained within a double circular border with a partial marginal legend. The reverse inscription names the ruler and references the Abbasid caliph in the traditional Islamic coinage formula. The flan exhibits the characteristic irregular edge and textured surface of a hammered pale gold dinar struck at Nishapur. The overall die execution is bold, with letters in high relief. |
