| Obverse description | Central device depicts a stylized mountain range beneath a radiant sun, all set within a plain field. The Kurdish national emblem is rendered in a bold, simplified style. The legend DEWLETA KURDISTANÊ arcs around the upper periphery in Latin script, while the Arabic-script inscription دولتی کردستان curves along the lower periphery. Small decorative stars or dots flank the inscriptions at either side. |

| Reverse description | Central device depicts a mounted warrior, identified as Saladin (Ṣalāḥ al-Dīn), charging on horseback to the left and rendered in a dynamic, detailed relief. The denomination numeral '1' appears prominently in the field to the left of the horse, flanked by the Arabic word دينار above and the Latin 'Dinar' below. The Arabic legend صلاح الدين and the Latin 'Saladin' are inscribed respectively at the upper left and upper right of the design. The dual date 2003-١٤٢٤ is displayed in the lower exergual area.
