Additional information

Mircea cel Bătrân ruled Wallachia longer than any other medieval prince of that territory, navigating Ottoman pressure, Hungarian suzerainty claims, and multiple depositions — he was restored to the throne at least twice. The dinar coinage of his reign drew directly from the Central European silver tradition, reflecting Wallachia's position between competing powers rather than alignment with any single one.

MBR#198 is among the better-documented varieties of his extensive series, though attributing specific issues to precise sub-periods within his 1386–1418 reign remains difficult given the absence of dated dies.
