| Beschrijving keerzijde | Aniconic reverse in the Abbasid epigraphic style, featuring five horizontal registers of Kufic Arabic script in the central field. The legends name the Abbasid Caliph al-Radi Billah and the Ziyarid ruler Mardawij ibn Ziyar, establishing the dual authority recognized on the coin. The central inscriptions are enclosed within a plain inner circle, itself surrounded by a marginal legend band in Kufic script carrying the Basmala, the mint name Mah al-Basra, and the AH date 322. The overall design conforms closely to standard Abbasid dinar typology, with well-formed though slightly irregular Kufic letterforms typical of provincial hammered coinage of this period. |
