Obverse description Central field bears a four-line Arabic Kufic inscription arranged horizontally within a plain inner border: the Shahada (profession of faith) occupies the upper lines, followed by the name of the Abbasid caliph al-Qadir Billah. A dotted inner border frames the central inscription area, and a marginal legend in Arabic script runs around the circumference within an outer beaded border, recording the mint name al-Muhammadiya (Rayy) and the date 392 AH. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, characteristic of hammered gold coinage of the Buyid period.
