| Reverse description | Reverse follows the standard Umayyad Andalusian dinar typology, with the entire design composed exclusively of Kufic Arabic inscriptions. The central field presents three to four lines of religious and dynastic text arranged horizontally within a raised inner circle, citing Quranic verse (Quran 9:33) and the regnal title of Caliph Hisham III as Amir al-Mu'minin. A concentric border ring divides this central zone from the circular marginal legend, which continues the Quranic and honorific text around the periphery. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped at the edges, characteristic of hand-struck issues of this period. The relief is bold on the central legends, with some weakness toward the margins due to uneven hammer pressure. |
