| Obverse description | Central field bears the Arabic legend of a Quranic verse (Surah At-Tawbah 9:20) praising those who believed, emigrated, and strove in the cause of Allah, arranged in multiple lines around the central inscription. The denomination '1 Dinar' and dual dating '1401 AH - 1980 AD' appear in Arabic numerals at centre, with the issuer name 'Republic of Iraq' (الجمهورية العراقية) also present. All inscriptions are rendered in elegant Arabic calligraphy. The design is executed in proof finish with a polished field contrasting the frosted legends. |
