Reverse description Three fruiting date palms (Phoenix dactylifera) rise prominently from a stylised plantation or grove rendered in fine engraving, their fronds filling the upper field. The Gregorian year '١٩٧٢' appears to the left of the central palm and the Hijri year '١٣٩٢' to the right, both in Eastern Arabic numerals. The lower portion depicts a row of low-lying vegetation or irrigation channels beneath the trees, conveying Iraq's agricultural heritage. The design is framed by a continuous toothed milled border consistent with the obverse.
