Reverse description The reverse displays a multi-line Kufic Arabic inscription in the central field, arranged in horizontal registers within a raised rectangular frame, following the standard Abbasid dinar format. A circular inner border separates the central text block from the surrounding marginal legend, which runs continuously around the periphery of the coin. The marginal inscription contains Quranic text and references to the mint and date. The name of the Sallarid ruler al-Marzuban b. Muhammad and the mint of Ardabil are incorporated within the legends, asserting both Sallarid authority and nominal Abbasid suzerainty. The hammered flan shows characteristic irregular edges and slight die shift.
