| Obverse description | Hammered gold dinar struck in a characteristic Fatimid concentric-band design. The central field contains the name Ali (علي) in bold Kufic script. An inner circular legend carries the Shahada with the Shia addition acknowledging Ali as the waliy of God, while the outer marginal legend contains the Quranic verse from Sura 9:33 (At-Tawbah) in Kufic script. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven in thickness, as typical of hand-struck Fatimid gold coinage of this period. |

| Reverse description | Reverse displays the characteristic Fatimid concentric-band layout in Kufic script. The central field bears the word al-Imam (الإمام). The inner circular legend names the caliph al-Amir bi-Ahkam Allah with his honorific title Amir al-Muminin. The outer marginal legend provides the mint and date formula, recording the striking of this dinar at Akka (Acre) in the year 512 AH (1112 CE). The flan shows the typical irregular edge of a hammered issue, with the legends well-struck though slightly worn. |
