Obverse description Central square field containing multiple lines of Arabic religious and dynastic inscriptions in angular Maghribi script, including the Shahada and Quranic text. The square is framed by a single linear border, itself enclosed within a circular marginal legend band bearing additional Arabic inscriptions. The coin exhibits the typical hammered, irregular flan characteristic of late Zayyanid gold coinage struck at Tlemcen. A dotted border runs along the outer edge of the marginal legend.
