| Reverse description | Central rectangular cartouche contains multiple horizontal lines of Arabic script presenting the Islamic profession of faith (shahada) and supplementary religious formulae. The border framing the central panel is decorated with a continuous foliate or interlaced ornamental band. A circumferential marginal inscription in Arabic script surrounds the frame, likely recording the mint name, date, or additional dynastic epithets. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped at the edges, consistent with hand-struck gold dinars of the Zayyanid period, and the relief of the lettering is bold and well-executed throughout. |
