| Reverse description | The reverse field presents seven lines of Kufic Arabic script arranged symmetrically across the flan. The central legends open with 'Lillah' (To God), followed by the phrase 'Muhammad is the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace,' the name of the Abbasid caliph al-Qa'im bi-Amr Allah, and the Buyid amir Abu Kalijar again styled Malik al-Muluk. An inner marginal legend carries the Quranic verse from Surah al-Rum (30:4-5) referencing divine victory and the joy of the believers. The outer margin repeats the Quranic proclamation of the Prophet's mission from Surah al-Tawba (9:33), consistent with standard Abbasid-era gold dinar conventions. The script is vigorous Kufic, typical of fifth-century AH Iraqi mint production. |
