| 裏面の説明 | Hammered gold dinar, reverse side, entirely epigraphic in Kufic Arabic script with no figural decoration. The central field presents five lines of inscription identifying the ruler Abu al-Misk Kafur, the Ikhshidid regent, along with the name of the Prophet Muhammad and the word 'Allah' at the top of the field. The lines are neatly arranged within a double ring border. A marginal legend running around the circumference carries the Quranic verse from Surat al-Tawbah (9:33) referencing the mission of the Prophet. The flan is slightly uneven at the edges, characteristic of the hammered production technique of the period. |
