Obverse description Hammered gold dinar with no figurative imagery, following standard Abbasid-style epigraphic convention. The central field contains four lines of Arabic Kufic inscription affirming the Islamic profession of faith and the prophethood of Muhammad. The inscription is arranged horizontally within a double circular border. A marginal legend encircling the central text records the mint name Filastin (Palestine) and the date in full written form, year 355 AH, separated by a plain inner ring. The overall strike is slightly irregular, as typical of hand-hammered medieval Islamic coinage.
