正面描述 Central vignette of a traditional dhow under sail on the harbour waters before the Aden coastline and mountains, rendered in blue-violet intaglio. The denomination in Arabic script appears to the right of the vignette, with the city name Aden above and the bank title across the top. Intricate guilloche borders with repeating foliate motifs frame all four sides, and two manuscript signatures appear below the central vignette.

备注

The Bank of Yemen — formally the Bank of the Yemen Arab Republic — issued this note at a moment when the North Yemeni economy was heavily dependent on remittances from workers in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. The dinar had replaced the rial as the country's unit of account through an earlier reform, though the rial remained the dominant denomination in everyday commerce; the 1 Dinar saw relatively limited transactional use as a result.

Thomas De La Rue's involvement in North Yemeni currency was long-running, and P#7 fits within a consistent series relationship between the republic and the London printer that predates the 1984 issue by over a decade.
