Opmerkingen

The Banque Centrale de Tunisie handled its own printing for this series — unusual for a central bank of its size at the time, and a point of national policy rather than mere economics. Tunisia had invested in in-house printing capacity through the 1970s precisely to reduce dependence on foreign security printers, a decision that shaped the visual and technical character of several denominations from this period.

At over twelve million pieces, the print run was substantial for a 1 dinar note. Watermark security only, no metallic thread — typical cost calculus for a low-denomination workhorse expected to circulate hard and be replaced frequently.
