Opmerkingen

Bahrain's switch from the Gulf Rupee to the Bahraini Dinar in 1965 predates this note by eight years, but the Monetary Agency — established in 1973 itself — issued this series almost immediately upon its founding, making P#13 effectively inaugural paper for the new regulatory body. The Agency replaced the Bahrain Currency Board, a distinction that matters: this was a deliberate move toward a more autonomous central banking structure as Gulf states repositioned themselves in the aftermath of British withdrawal from the region.

Thomas De La Rue's involvement was near-universal across Gulf issues of this period, which makes attribution unremarkable — but the 1973 series was short-lived, superseded relatively quickly as Bahrain refined its note designs through the late 1970s.
